WEBINAR: Hybrid Manufacturing – Transforming the Future of Machine Shops
The market for the various manufacturing methods is large and constantly changing. What is clear, however, is that additive manufacturing is becoming increasingly popular due to the numerous advantages it offers. The technology can also complement traditional manufacturing methods such as CNC machining in what is refered to as hybrid manufacturing. If we take metal 3D printing as an example, it should be noted that this method always requires a process of post-processing by a CNC machine. By combining the two technologies, innovative solutions can be found to today’s complex manufacturing problems. This ensures that the final parts meet the customer’s required specifications.
In the webinar “Metal Printing and CNC Machining – the Manufacturing of the Future?” which took place on May 11th participants were able to learn more about how exactly additive manufacturing and CNC machining can be combined. It put a focus on how the company is helping customers implement AM for hybrid manufacturing, especially for machine shops, as well as shone a light on how the combination of these exciting technologies could dominate the manufacturing market in the future.
Madeleine Prior, EN Content Specialist at 3Dnatives moderated the discussion and we two experts also joined us for the discussion. First, Peter Genovese, 3D Printing Application Engineer at SolidCAM additive. But, we will also be welcoming Kenny Betz, Additive Account Manager also at SolidCAM additive. Not only did these experts go deeper into the topic to explain how hybrid manufacturing works as well as its many benefits, but there was also a dedicated 30-minute long Q&A session.
