TierTime, a Chinese manufacturer, has created a line of FDM solutions for desktop use. Their UP300, UP600, and X5 3D printers are designed to be user-friendly and accessible, as is their UP mini 3 machine, which has been recently updated for even easier operation. The UP mini 3 boasts several features, including a larger print bed, automatic calibration, and end-of-filament detection, and is particularly suited for the education sector.
Features of the UP mini 3
The UP mini 3 uses Melted Extrusion Modeling technology, a filament extrusion process. It’s compatible with standard polymers like PLA and elastomers like TPU, offering a print volume of 200 x 200 x 200 mm, which is typical for desktop FDM machines. Its compact size makes it an excellent choice for use in classrooms. The printer comes equipped with several safety functions, such as automatic shutdown of the printing process if the chamber is open or if the filament runs out, ensuring the safety of students handling it.
The UP mini 3 printer features a carbon filter and a HEPA filter that removes toxic particles emitted during printing, as well as facilitates air circulation inside the machine. Its bed can reach 100°C, which minimizes the risk of deformation and printing errors.
Lastly, the UP mini 3 includes a print media preview system that allows users to optimize their prints, and a queue function that places the following prints directly in a queue, reducing downtime between each part created.
